zuma with a lot more umph!
By (I am an Owner) on May 08, 2011I bought the zuma 125 new from the dealer. The first thing i noticed (after riding a 50cc zuma for 4 years) was a lot more get up and go. It is nice to be able to keep a constant speed on a steep hill and not feeling like your about to become a hood ornament on the car behind you! The motor seems ... to have somewhat of a drone but the fuel injection supplies the power when you need it.
The seat is nice but could use more substantial padding which would definitely make your rump and back feel better after a ride. This 125 zuma is pretty agile and easily maneuvers in and out of traffic.
The two things i really dont like are.. the double kickstand, one for sidemount the other that lifts the rear wheel off the ground. I prefer the rear wheel kickstand, you only need one and it works just fine on the base zuma. I also wish the zuma 125 had a kickstarter like the base, your only choice is the electric start (which is nice) but you have no backup in case your battery decides to take a day off!
Overall the yamaha zuma 125 is a very nice but somewhat bland big brother to the base zuma, but for reliability you cant beat it. dewey
