Perfect For My Needs
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 18, 2021Ive been riding Vinos since 2010. The 2008 model is my second one. I ride in a city of 4 million and this scooter has never let me down. It always starts, even in the cold Canadian winter. Ive never experienced this wobbling people are talking about, and Ive been in a few sticky situations. You cant ... just plunk yourself on a scooter and ride like you know it all. Taking a motorcycle safety course is beneficial because youre taught how to protect yourself and drive defensively. Accidents do happen but I find it hard to believe that its the scooters fault.

Vino rated #43 out of 85?!?!?
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 12, 2014I was wondering why the 2008 Vino was rated so low on this site, and I saw why. One reviewer gave it a 1 STAR even though they gave it wonderful words! And two others gave it 1 stars because of a "wobble". I have one and I LOVE it! It is great quality, has nice power, extremely quiet, and just lives ... up to anything anyone could ask for in a 125cc 4 stroke scooter. I have never experienced the "wobble", but *all* small scooters ~200 lbs will have a bit of top heaviness. They have little engines, and most weight is the rider on the seat. I have actually skidded my front wheel on mine when someone pulled out directly in front of me. That was a first for me. The bike tracked straight and I didn't go down. I don't want to repeat that again, but the bike was very stable. I'm kind of a big guy 250 or so, and I can get 50 mph on a nice flat straightaway.. but like someone else said, my Vino is best at 40 to 45.. and there it purrrs... I just picked an almost new 2004 yamaha zuma 50cc with the 2 stroke engine. They are two different animals, but both are *amazing* for what you pay for them. I'm sold. I just wish I would have bought a scooter 20 years ago. (I have been riding/racing motorcycles for 35 years.) All I can tell anyone reading these reviews is these Vino's and Zuma's are great! Ride and enjoy, but always watch out for the other guy! p.s. Aside from the low ratings by several readers (but they are entitled to their opinions), I believe this 2008 Vino would have made the top 10. Take care my friends.... :)

Really nice ride, great mileage
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 23, 2013I have a beautiful Vino that I have customized. Great for city and urban riding. Never squirrley with me but you need to know how to ride. It is a motorcycle not a bike! 110 MPG easily. Love it! And it's for sale! I want to buy a horse actually!

In Love
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 20, 2013I love it, the scooter has turned out to be a wonderful investment. I have never ridden a scooter before and when I first tried it was very nimble and quick. Kinda hard to get use to. But after the first two weeks I fell in love. The only problem would be the silencer. It has a 45 degree angle in ... which I find breaking often(or the weld just after it) and to replace its easy, but expensive parts. I wish it had more get up and go, but it is only a 125cc and I am heavy. 65mph is fine with me though! It's awesome, I tell everyone to buy one.

2008 Vino 125
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 27, 2010This little scooter runs great and the gas mileage is hard to beat, I've gotten 90mpg, but does depend on how you ride it. As far as the wobble, since it's an automatic shifter you do need to really pay attention to traffic ahead and break SLOWLY. Trying to slam breaks on like a conventional moter ... cycle isn't going to happen. It shifts to neutral as soon as you slow down to stop. Ya just have to be care full. I've never experienced any wobble or unexpected loss of control.

EXTRA - CAREFUL PLEASE, PLEASE
By (I am a Writer) on Jun 25, 2009My 17 year old son bought a Y125V in November 2008 and, 15 minutes later on the drive home it began to wobble with him, he lost control and is now a paraplegic. He had grown up on dirt bikes. This may be a good scooter but needs special care when riding. After months of rehab, we are selling the ... scooter.

Jammie Yammie
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 28, 2008This is just abt a perfect scoot in every way but one: the daft position of the filler cap - right under where you've stored your strap-ons for a weekend away. Or where you've just loaded your excess bag of groceries.
How the tall-domes at Yamaha came up with that one, no idea.
Otherwise, ... this is one great design, first-rate braking and roadhandling, excellent finish, good zip up to 45mph, and one helluva lot of fun to drive.

Careful Please
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 12, 2008My wife recently bought a new Vino and loved scooting around town. As has been written elsewhere on the web, while attempting to slow down under emergency braking while in traffic, the bike started to get squirrely, wobbled and went down. Please be VERY careful. Even though she had ridden motorcycles ... for 15 years, scooters are a different animal. Reviewer elsewhere noted the same phenomenon on his Vino. It wobbles and can get away from you under hard braking conditions. We're selling the scooter after only 100 miles on the clock. Wife is recovering from all fingers broken on one hand, double arm fracture on the other arm and over 50 stitches. It's a cool scooter - just be aware. Buy and wear full safety gear!

The bike I should have had all along...
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 09, 2008This is the perfect commuter bike for me. It's tiny, yet powerful and stable. it gets great gas mileage and handles extremely well. It is the first two-wheeled vehicle that I have found melds perfectly with me, is an extension of my body as it flies down the road. It will do 55, but it is happiest ... at 40-45, which constitutes the majority of my 16-mile commute. I do recommend the windscreen, as it cuts down on the wind pressure on your chest as you ride.
I have had many different bikes, this is by far the best I have yet owned, and I see myself riding this tiny powerhouse for the foreseeable future.
