Love my C3!
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 18, 2016My electric blue C3 is awesome. Very dependable and fun to ride. I just turned 8,000 miles and it's been nearly trouble free. The only problem we've had was that it would overheat and quit running on extremely hot days. Should have been a recall item from Yamaha as this is a known problem. My ... hubby replaced the fuel pump and we're good to go again. Easy to work on and fun to ride. I call him James (Jimmy for short) because I ride him to work and at 5:00 I hop on and say "Home James!". The gas savings alone make it worth owning, but I also save nearly $60/month that I would have to pay in parking fees at work if I drove my car, so even better! Love his roomy trunk and I ride him year round without trouble (I do NOT ride if we have snow or ice on the roads). Love, love, love my C3!

C3
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 07, 2012Have 20,000 miles on my C3
Just on gas prices and mpg vs.
my car I have already paid for
my scooter.
Then if you figure the savings on wear and tear on my car...
If I would have put another 20,000 on my car I don't know what additional repairs I ... would need on my car.
So you can see 134 mpg I get with my C3 vs. the 20 mpg I get with my car it's a big savings.
I have to drive 10 miles into town. It's 4 and 5 lanes all the way in.
So those big SUVs and trucks have room
to pass me.
Sometimes I have to drive on 2 lane roads. If the shoulder is paved it's nice. However, you have to watch out for objects on the shoulder. That's where tire retreads, metal parts, junk, etc... seems to accumulate. As well as sudden potholes and there's no warning when the shoulder of the road will turn to gravel. So 4 lane is obviously best.
You will get a vehicle now and again who thinks you should not be on the road and will remind you with a tailgate or a loud horn. But most people are understanding and will wait for traffic to clear to get around you.
Summer is the best time to travel obviously with a bike. But I live in a tourist town and the traffic is very heavy.
I drive my C3 until the roads start getting icy. Usually I drive it less and less until around thanksgiving.
Spring came early this year and I was riding in early March.
So it's almost year around and I live in northern Michigan.
I sure would be driving my car if I could afford it, but if you dress right you can ride in tempertures as low as 20 degrees. You just have to pick your days. Black ice is a real worry. I dropped my bike twice last winter and it's not pleasant. I cracked a rib and pulled a muscle in my knee. Both injurys I wondered if I'd ever get well.
Back to the good news, the new mopeds that are 4 cycle and water cooled have a much much better life expectency.
Have probably another 20,000 miles to get out of my C3.
Literally the only issue I have with the bike is the front suspension. Over high lips in the road the front forks will bottom out and it's quit jarring.
The stablity of the tires and the big bike comfort of this bike is equal to that of a full sized motorcycle.
I've been on other mopeds and you got a jerky feeling when you try to steer.
The c3 is very smooth and it gives you a lot of confidence on the road. Seems to drive itself. Very stable feeling.

2007 Yamaha C3 Scooter
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 27, 2008I bought my '07 Yamaha C3 Scooter on 5May2007.I went to my dealer, able to pay cash, and got it for $1685.00 base price.(Tax, tag, title, dealer's fees, 12 months of full coverage insurance, and a three year extended warrenty cost a total of $2400.00).With 1400 miles on the speedo the only problems ... I've had are the seat begins to feel like an oak church pew after 30 miles, and the plastic panel that covers the spark plug access opening disappeared.I had my dealer derestrict the transmission at 615 miles,And my scooter has consistantly run out to 48 mph and averages 110-113 mpg (with no slippage,or unusual belt wear thus far.) It has started the first time, every time, And I love it! (anyone who's ever tried to coax a reluctant 2 stroke moped to life on a cold, wet, morning, will appreciate the C3's fuel injected 4 stroke engine!) This is the best money I've ever spent! Sincerely, Gabe
