My Yamaha Vino 125 is a 2006 model. The following years to 2009 models are the same scooter. I absolutely enjoy driving my scoot who I named Raggedy Man after the Mad Max movie Beyond Thunder Dome. I live in NJ and take the scoot out in temperatures down to 15 degrees F and it never fails in too sta...rt instantly. People look and point and come over too talk about Raggedy Man and always tell me how cool the scooter looks. The Vino gets about 70 mpg(not 96 as it is rated for) I can cruise at 55 mph all day on level roads but come down to 45mph on steep hills. From a light I can leave other vehicles in the dust. One drawback is the limited suspension travel which gives a punishing ride on rough roads(frost heaves on NJ roads where the asphalt raises up in a ridge). ouch, my aching back

Fun until you realize that if you are an inch taller than 6 feet, that your body contour is completely out of whack. I needed 3 ibuprofin 2 hours after my first ride just to manage the lower back pain, all this while riding 30 m.p.h. in light traffic. I can't begin to imagine what it my be like du...ring a white knuckle ride in heavy New York traffic on a Friday rush hour commute. Ugh. Scooterific

I bought my 2006 new. I've put over 5000 miles on it. Other than yearly up keep,such as fluid changes.No major repair's.Usually one gal. of gas a week. I do agree with seating issue though. If your a tall person it is a little rough on the back. I wish there were more option's. Other than the windsh...ield and racks(which I have)your limited. I like to see a different seat. Great Mid Level Scooter

I bought my in early 2007, I have put over 2,000 miles on it and no problems to date. I cruise mine all over town while getting 80mpg and up to 55mph. Those the scooter doesn't prefer to go that fast, 50mph is the comfortable top speed. It takes off fast enough to pass most cars though is a bit s...luggish when trying to speed up after 35mph. For the money I paid, this scooter was perfect. I am going to upgrade soon, but out of preferance and now having more money. I am sure I could ride this bike for many more years. Great little scooter that's perfect for me

My first scooter was a Yamaha Zuma 49cc, and it was a good scooter to learn on. But I outgrew its top speed of 40 mph (though my husband was clocked by a cop going 46 mph downhill).



A couple of years later I moved up to the Vino 125 and quickly found it to be the perfect scooter for me. While it... still doesn't do great on steep hills, like the one to our house, at least I don't have to get off and push it up like I sometimes did with the Zuma. I find that if I'm doing at least 40 mph as I start up the hill (a 35 mph speed zone), I can get up the hill with only losing a small amount of power.

It is a good all-around scooter for me. I mainly ride on city streets, but I have ridden it on the freeway where at 60-65 mph I can keep up with the traffic.

I attached a large bicycle basket to the rear so I can use it go to the library or pick up a few items at the supermarket. I ride my scooter from April to October, weather permitting, and only take my car out once a week for major grocery shopping.

The scooter gets great gas mileage, usually between 85 and 100 miles per gallon. My car only gets 30 mpg in the city, so guess which vehicle I use for short trips.

My husband has a 2008 Vino 125, and we frequently take rides of 100 miles or more a day. Truthfully, the seat isn't that comfortable on long rides, so we stop frequently.

The highlight of my riding this marvelous little scooter came in September 2011. We hauled our scooters over to Yellowstone National Park and spent a week riding all through the park. What a great experience that was! Though I do admit to being a bit nervous the first time I came within 10 feet of a buffalo on the road.

Riding the steep mountain roads was a challenge for the Vino -- some roads were so steep, I only managed to pass bicycle riders. But overall I was pleased with the Vino's performance at Yellowstone, and look forward to riding it again there in the future. Read Full Review
