Best Motorcycle EVER for the price
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 31, 2014I bought my 2006 1100 Silverado new in 2007. I have put over 26,ooo miles on it. It has been the best motorcycle I have ever owned. Too bad that Yamaha can't see that it was the best they have ever produced. I would buy another one if they would just build it.

It's a Tank
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 13, 2014I absolutely love my 1100 Silverado. I think its beautiful. I'm 6'2", 240 lbs. and the fit is great. Mine is two-tone silver and the finish is gorgeous. It has all the power I need, even for my size, and it is available at very low RPM's. I replaced the seat with an Ultimate with a removable ... backrest, for the long hauls. It handles great for me, whether on the parking lot, city streets, on the highway, or on the twisties. Even though, its a little heavy in the curves, once you get a feel for the old girl, she does just fine. I don't ride above the posted speed limit, so it does 70mph with ease. I've logged almost 12000 miles on her, with only expense being oil changes and a set of tires. Of course, it comes with leather hard bags that are nice, sissy bar, and windscreen. My appointments, other than the Ultimate, are Cobra Slash-cuts, Lindby Linbar, Oil filter relocation kit, luggage rack, windshield bag, light bar, T-Bag, and J&M speakers. It is standard with driver floorboards which are great, don't freak out when they scrape. There is gear whine, but it is normal, as is the valve noise. It is the nature of the Yamaha 1100 engine. If the noise goes away, have it checked. It has only gotten loose on me a couple of times, and it was my fault. Whether you are a beginner, or an experienced rider, unless you must have the high horsepower of the other street monsters out there, you won't be disappointed. I love it...and if it got stolen and had to be replaced, I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy another...or, a 1300. It is a TANK.

2006 yamaha vstar 1100 classic silverado
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 30, 2012Recently purchased a 2006 yamaha vstar 1100 silverado . Having recently upgraded from a smaller bike on my first ride i was very impressed with the ride, feel of the power and the over all styling of the bike. It has the classic cruiser styling. Came right out of the factory with the classic silverado ... windshield, cobra pipes, and studded saddle bags and passenger back support I highly recommend anyone to look at this bike A big thumbs up !!!
