Know what you're getting in to..
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 18, 2013Unlike the other reviewer on here, I knew exactly what kind of bike a Hammer was and what to expect. I don't take long rides and if I do, there are accessories for the bike that can make it comfortable. I was a sport bike rider til I got my hammer, so I wanted the sport feel but in a cruiser. As ... for the $16999 price the other reviewer paid, not sure who ripped him off. MSRP is and always has been $14,999. All bikes depreciate except the ridiculousness of Harleys, but thats not my style. As for the big tire gripping things I do not have that problem, maybe cause i've been riding a long time. It does take some getting used to though when making slow turns. Sounds like the other reviewer was sold a bike, he didn't buy one. I enjoy the sound of the aftermarket pipes and people constantly asking me about the bike. Do your homework before buying any motorcycle.

Hammer realiity check
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 24, 2010Do your homework if you plan to add accessories to you bike, The Hammer is very limited with rack and bag selections. The rear back tire sure draws a lot of attention but catches any uneven road condition, wether it be a tarred crack or the tire grooves from most cars and trucks. It just makes for ... a little uneasy feeling when cruising at highway speeds. I'm an experienced rider and for me to get that feeling doesn't speak well for the wide rear tires. Overall quality is outstanding with Victory just not sure price vs. depreciation ratio makes for a good buy. I wish I had got a Vegas. Tried getting on one after having my Hammer for 1.5 years and will lose 50% if I do..WOW! No matter what you think...that's hard to swallow and the greastest depreciation ratio for any cruiser bike. For that reason I have to give Victory a poor value rating. I like to get on a new ride every 3-4 years but cannot afford to do that with Victory. Sorry for the harsh truth. American made should include holding value a lot better than a 3 year old bike costing $16999 having a trade value of $7300.
