Great Scooter

Problems:Bad spark plug..hard starting, had broken electrode..new plug starts great. Changed CDI module to no rev limit and roller weights to 8 gram top speed 42 mph was originaly 29 mph still gets great gas milage now much more comfortable with traffic. Would change CDI first and test. Love this sc...ooter and its better performance now. Realize this is a 50cc 4cycle scooter,most will not go over 35mph and I weigh 195 lbs. Read Full Review

Ignorance = Bad reviews.

I have a laguna 50 and I love it. The one thing that people absolutely must know is that all 50cc mopeds are basically horrible. They are not horrible because they are made using horrible parts but more so that they are not put together well.



Once you get basically ANY moped, you must take it apa...rt completely and re-do everything. This is usually the job of the dealer but unfortunately, most dealers are ignorant to this fact and try to sell these scooters to people that have no idea what they are doing.

My Laguna 50 has 2800miles on it and has not had a single issue other than ones that I have caused.

It looks great, handles great and gets 100+ mpg.


People also often complain about the lack of power. Well no duh. It's a 50cc. NO 50cc moped is going to have power. PERIOD. Read Full Review

Don't buy Schwinn Laguna!

My daughter purchased two Schwinn Laguna scooters. Neither have a full 100 miles on them, and one is difficult to start and will not run more than 10 mph. The dealer is replacing the carburetor for $178 and will not honor the 2-year warranty, which specifies carburetor care, because "it hasn't... been run enough." The second will not start at all. We have been trying to order a part for more than a month, and they don't seem available. These are the worst piece of trash I've ever seen on the market, and it's a shame they bear an old, trusted name that once meant excellence. If our experience is worth anything, count on it breaking, count on not being able to get parts, count on them reneging on the warranty, and count on hassle. There. I feel a little better. bad electric start

First 09 Schwinn Laguna would not start with electric starter and would no run right at full throttle.

Took it to shop after three months. It was not fixed so they gave me a new one. It ran three min. stopped. Spent four days trying to get it started. Back to shop. Two months being worked and it st...ill would run right.
Was give the third one. After the break in it would not start with electric starter and at times would not start with kick start. It was traded in on a Yamaha classic. It runs good and starts with electric start easy. Read Full Review
