Do yourself a favor, Buy this bike
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 09, 2020The 900 is a great bike, Its a all round great performing middle weight cruiser that really has no competition. The Boulevard and Shadow being the closest and both 100cc or more less engine. The bike looks great, Its often confused as a Road King. It does 70mph all day and is very comfortable, A ... after market seat is not a bad idea tho. Its reliable and big enough for 90% of riders.

do some homework
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Oct 01, 2014Beautiful bike, but Stator failure before 20k, and the forums all recognizing it, makes me mad at Kaw Dealer/Factory. I own an 88 KX250 that I love, and is bomb proof. I wanted a road bike that was as reliable, and would never strand me. Imagine the disappointment at being stranded with such low ... milage.

Great bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 11, 2014I have been riding for 25+ years and I wanted a good cruiser that didn't break the bank or was too big to enjoy riding. The Vulcan 900 fits the bill quite well. I bought it used with 15,000 miles on it and am quite pleased with the bike. Ride is smooth and powerful with plenty of power with a passenger ... even accelerating past 70. Mileage is excellent with my bike getting between 46 and 48 mpg. The only con is that it seems to buffet at high speed on the freeway when you are behind anything bigger than a pickup. Keep a good distance and slow down just a bit and it settles right down. Definitely would recommend this bike to anyone wanting a cruiser with attitude.

I've ridden my Vulcan 900 Classic (now Dressed) for 3 years - Love it!
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 25, 2009I was a "late bloomer" into motorcycle riding (now almost 57). I wanted an entry level bike that I would be easy for me to ride but one I would not get tired of and want to trade in after 6 months (in 2006). I found it in the Kawasaki 903cc Classic (which I then fulled dressed after getting the ... color I wanted). I cannot express how happy I am with my choice. I researched all mid-weight Crusiers for about 10 months before pulling the trigger. No problem with size and weight ... no problems with the bike over 2.5 years and 14,000 miles ... no problem with 2-up ... fun to ride ... easy to take care of ... great power for a mid-weight. I only feel the need for a little bigger engine when I get up to and past 65 mph (I can tell it's working hard), but even then, it performs very well. And I'm usually on back roads where those speeds are not usually warranted. It's a great bike to begin on ... it's great bike to keep. Even the mechanics at my PowerSports Dealer express to me what a great bike this is ... among all that are available on the market. And it was and still is very economical ... I am paying less than $200/month (over 4 years on an $8,000 loan). I weigh about 200 pounds ... 5'9" ... the seat height and feel of the bike, fit me to a "T" ... it's like it was made with me in mind. I keep looking at other bikes (as most of us do) and I've taken Test Rides on other Cruisers, 1300cc and larger. I don't see a bike a like as much until I get to 1600cc or more ... and then the costs to purchase reach double or more than my 900. I lucked out with my decision to buy this bike!

Great Motorcycle
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 19, 2009This is a great middleweight motorcycle.
It is light and easy to handle and if you don't want a big road barge this bike fills the bill. It has good acceleration and is very responsive.
Also it won't break the bank.
