  • Honda Sabre 1100: Great all-around bike.
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 20, 2016

Here's what I like the Honda Shadow 1100 Sabre; there's enough power there to carry you and your cargo at highway speeds all day long but still be a comfortable, easy ride aroundown town. The motor is smooth with plenty of torque making it able to run 2nd as slow as 15mph up to 60mph where you'll ...

What I don't like. The size of the fuel tank is just too small at 3.5 gallons. A gallon or even a half gallon would make a huge difference. Honestly though how far you van rude on a tank is a mute point if you don't replace the stock seat. 30 minutes is about all you'll ride comfortably, longer than an hour and you're more than ready to spend some time out of the saddle. For taller riders, it's almost a must to move the move the controls forward. At 6'3" I moved my 3" forward to put LEDs in a spot were my toes weren't pointing down. The speedometer feels like an afterthought in the design and ruins the sleek lines of the bike.

Overall, it's a great bike as is for short trips and aroind town, and with a few accommodating modifications, could easily be rode across country.

  • Ride It Like You Stole It !!
By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 22, 2015

My Sabre is my 2nd Honda. My first Honda and first motorcycle was a 450 NightHawk......when I was 18. A few years of riding and 24 additional yrs later I stumbled on a great deal.

Bought the 2005 Sabre in 2010 with only 112 km on it !! It was stolen and hidden and found 5 yrs. later. ...

This bike handles like a champ, easy to throw in the corners and I like the forward controls over the standard riding style except for the kite in the wind feeling you get when your in the higher speeds. 1100 ran pretty decent against my buddies on a 99 Fatboy and 07 Superglide although they had me on top end. Will be jetting carb and putting on shotgun pipes to see if I can get a few horses out of it.Bike is light and decent on gas. May want to get a windshield if you plan on touring or the wind will beat the crap out of you with the riding position.

Wanting to get a bigger bike now with more luxuries and power but thinking I will keep the Honda cause it is reliable and looks cool although a Harley owner may try to tell you different.

  • Best Bike
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 02, 2011

Bought a used 2005 Sabre that was locally available and attractively priced. It was not what I was initially looking for , but I have been pleasantly surprised: This is without exception the best handling motorcycle I have ever driven. Rock steady in the wind and with passing trucks. very ...

  • Not a bad bike
By  (I am an Owner) on Oct 07, 2010

I had smaller Honda motorcycles and bigger 2003 Goldwings but this bike is about the perfect compromise for this brand. It is pretty powerful but not as much as other bikes of it size. What this bike has is good looks great mileage of 45 mpg at 65mph and the balence for I drive it in stop and go ...

  • 1100 Fun
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 18, 2008

Ok I knew I would not be happy with this Bike Dropping from a 1800 VtX to this Bike. But at my age I felt that lighter is better.

This was a Sharp Bike that drew attention.. It ran fairly well. But top end was 125 mph . Should have been happy but got beat by a moded 1400 Harley Low Rider, ...
