I've had my FLHR one month now & have logged 1,500 local miles. Ergonomically perfect for me. Very easy & natural to ride. Very comfortable for the long hall. The 96 engine has plenty of power & torque if you shift it properly. The 103 engine on the Classic is probably more fun but it...'s not worth the $3,000 premium. Same goes for the Street Glide's bat wing, radio & extra gauges. Very cool but not worth the $2,000 premium over my Road King. At $16,900 the standard is the best buy in Harley's touring line. Love the Ride

I have owned my bike for about a year and have logged a little over 8k miles. It has performed perfectly. I added the security and cruise control and cannot believe how much of a difference the cruise makes!



For a large bike it handles well. I have been very pleased with the ride and comfort o...f the bike. I am only 5'6" and sit flat footed. It is comfortable for shorter people.

Overall I don't believe I would change much other than the ABS would have been a nice addition but the base model was already at the top of my price range.

The look of the bike cannot be beat. Every time I look at it a big smile comes over my face.

Excellent Small Tourer

I recently purchased my '11 FLHR intending to fill the gap between my Honda GL1800 and something small to scoot around town and still be able to bring home some groceries. It does this with ease, (why do cops ride 'em?). Ergonomically I found the grip location more suited for a shorter rider, being ...6'1" I immediately installed reduced reach bars now and it is perfect. Handling is more than I could test to the extremes, braking is very good, (wished they were linked like the Goldwing), windage is adequate with Ultra Classic lowers installed, very smooth on the highway @ 75 mph. Not a total touring bike, (I say this because it is classed as a touring bike on the HD site), like the Honda but more than a cruiser you'd find at any other dealership. Read Full Review

Over priced, under performing

HD is still pedaling the same tech as the last 50 years. I bought this bike for my wife because she really has a thing for HD. It gets terrible gas mileage and it does not start up easily. I am concerned about taking it for a long distance trip as it seems very un-reliable. The bike has a bout 2k on... it now. It is decently comfortable but it is very heavy and not very fast. It also handles terribly if we go on any roads with turns. We are selling this bike now to get something better. Read Full Review
