Very enjoyable machne
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 17, 2017I was recently given this bike by a friend who had decided she preferred having a spider for her and her partner. It had sat in their garage for over 4 years they parked it and it was never touched. I took it to a local authorized dealer service center and for the cost of cleaning the fuel system, ... oil change, coolant change; it runs like a dream. With only 3000 miles its almost brand new. While a bit heavier then I would have expected, it's easily handled (more so then my previous Honda 750-4 back in the late 70's). I'm 6'4 and 300 lbs and this machine seems to do just fine - I love that I can sit up square and still be comfortable even just having had full knee replacement surgery 3 months ago. It responds quickly, steers smooth, and is very comfortable overall. and so many bells and whistles - I am still exploring the potentials. Not having to shift/clutch is a nice add on. I would have like the wind faring to be a tad higher but its "Italian" what can I say.... I see a lot of time in the saddle of this beauty in my future.

Is it a bike or a scooter most people ask?
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 19, 2010I have never road a bike or a scooter. So after getting my motorcycle license I bought the Aprilia Scarabeo 500.I like the way it lookes and it keeps up with traffic with out any problem.My wife has a bad back and she rides on the back from time to time and loves it.The fuel line and a new battery ... were replaced.I have 8,000 mile on it and ride it to work every day.Its a great looking bike most people stop me and ask what size bike is that? :O} i just smile and tell them a bit about the bike.Its great on gas,rides nice too.I call it a poor man cruiser. :O}

Nice Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 27, 2009Bought this used with 3,000 miles on it. Really liked the looks and this bike didn't notice me on it going up hill on the freeway going 75 mph.
Nice bike, however, not enough leg room for me and I am 5'7" with a 32" inseam. I also found that I would become motion sick on the bike ... if I made to many sudden turns. I seem to have a weak inner ear, however, this has not happened on my Burgman 400 or any of my motorcycles, so I chalk this up to a short wheel base.
Nice bike, nice storage. :)
