Yamaha legends at Laguna Seca

Weekend of Champions at U.S. Grand Prix

Fans attending the U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca can meet some of their favorite racing legends at Yamahas Weekend of Champions event, July 18-20.

The official motorcycle sponsor for the MotoGP round at Laguna Seca, Yamaha is bringing in several big names from the companys racing history, including several Motorcycle Hall of Fame members.

Past Yamaha racing stars attending the Weekend of Champions include AMA Motocross champions Broc Glover, Gary Jones, Jeff Emig, Doug Henry and Rick Burgett, AMA Supercross champions Pierre Karsmakers, Mike Bell and Damon Bradshaw, road racing legends Steve

Four-time Grand Prix champion Eddie Lawson won 31 races over ten seasons.
Baker, Don Emde, Thomas Stevens, Kel Carruthers, Randy Mamola, Rich Olivier, Jamie James and Scott Russell, and three-time Grand Prix Champion Wayne Rainey. Also taking part is four-time Grand Prix Champion Eddie Lawson, who will be inducted to the Legends of Laguna Seca July 17.

We are extremely proud to host these Yamaha racing icons and provide fans the rare opportunity to meet so many of them in one place, says Bob Starr, general manager of national communications for Yamaha. And of course, it gives us all the opportunity to remember all of their contributions to Yamahas strong racing heritage.

Fans attending the Weekend of Champions can get autographs from Yamahas stars. Motorcycle Hall of Fame member and television announcer Larry Maiers will provide interviews with Yamahas racing legends.
