Suzuki Signs AMA Supercross Champ

Reed, who won his second AMA Supercross title in May, will join Suzuki after having raced for Yamaha since he debuted in AMA racing in 2002. Reed also won the 2004 Supercross Championship for Yamahas factory team as well as the 2002 AMA 125cc East Region Championship for the Yamaha of Troy racing team.

The 26-year-old will ride Suzukis EFI RM-Z450 for the 2009 AMA Supercross season, as well as select Supercross events in his native Australia.

Im extremely excited to be starting a new chapter in my career and to be working with (team manager) Roger DeCoster and Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki, says Reed. It will be a whole new experience for me which Im really looking forward to. I rode Suzukis for a good part of my amateur career and have some great memories from then and now Im excited to be racing the new Suzuki EFI RM-Z450. I believe this bike and my new team have great potential and I couldnt be happier.
