Scott Russell joins SPEED

Mr. Daytona replaces departing Freddie Spencer
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, May. 05, 2009
Motorcycle Hall of Famer Scott Mr. Daytona Russell will be the SPEED networks lead motorcycle road racing analyst.

Beginning this weekend, Russell will replace fellow Hall of Fame member Freddie Spencer whose European scheduling conflicts forced SPEED to seek a replacement.

We are thrilled to have someone of Scotts caliber on the SPEED team and we appreciate Freddies years of service to the network and look forward to working with him again in the future when schedules allow, says Rick Miner, SPEED SVP Production & Network Operations.

Russell, who earned his nickname for winning a record five Daytona 200 victories, is a former AMA Superbike Champion, former World Superbike Champion, and a Suzuka Eight Hour endurance race winner.
