Safe riding being promoted at Bike Week

Custom chopper builder Perewitz working with Allstate
By Motorcycle.com Staff, Feb. 25, 2009
To help make Bike Week safer for riders, custom chopper builder Dave Perewitz has partnered with Allstate to help promote safe driving and safe riding.

Allstate is donating Motorcycle Safety Foundation training videos and materials to local driver education classes, independent driving schools and other organizations to help prevent accidents at intersections.

Also, Allstate will distribute tip cards for riders and motorists in Daytona and Orlando to help everybody share the road safely.

With an estimated 350,000 people traveling from around the country for Bike Week, Allstate says safe riding and driving is of paramount importance. A survey commissioned by Allstate found 82 percent of motorcyclists are concerned about other drivers of cars more than anything else on the road.

Perewitz is trying to help get the word out about the importance of safety on the road. He has more than 30 years of experience riding, building, and customizing motorcycles. What began in his fathers backyard shed has progressed to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Massachusetts where Perewitz Cycle Fabrications has built bikes for many celebrities and sporting icons.
