Driverless Racing?

The Seattle Times ran a story about an upcoming 300 mile race from Los Angeles to Las Vegas-- with driverless vehicles. It's actually a research project funded by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), known for bringing you such things as stealth aircraft and Lord knows what else... but anyone is free to enter. Oh, and there's a ONE MILLION dollar prize if you win.
Unfortunately, no organic things are allowed, i.e., monkeys, trained gerbils, etc. I was hoping there was room in my design to fit that brain tank in there to pilot my maniacal machine across the desert.
