1956 Moto Guzzi V-8

By Sean Alexander, Mar. 10, 2005
Paul Garson has produced yet another fantastic story on a rare and exotic beauty. You will probably never see one of these in person, so take a minute and feast on this 50yr old marvel.

It's no secret that I'm deeply moved by the sound of classic racing engines (Columbo & Lampredi V-12s & Honda RC 165 sixes topping that list) After listening to the fabulous sound from eight 50cc Moto Guzzi pistons, I think I might have to expand my sound library and the hairs on the back of my neck are still smarting from standing at attention. The sound from this 12,000RPM V-8 is made all the more impressive, when you consider that it was recorded in 1956.

But hey, don't take my word for it. I imbedded a sound file at the end of the story, so take a read, then take a listen.... -Sean
