Game publisher Capcom has released details about its next MotoGP-licensed video game, due for release for the start of the 2010 MotoGP season.

Unlike previous games in the series which were released soon after the end of each season, the new game, to be titled MotoGP 09/10, will be released in March 2010 ahead of the MotoGP season. The new release schedule allows the games developer Monumental Games to include off-season changes such as riders switching teams and sponsorship changes. MotoGP 09/10 will likely include the new Moto2 class which replaces the 250cc World Championship in 2010. As the new games title reflects, Capcom plans to keep the game current with free updates throughout the 2010 season.

Historically MotoGP video games have been released toward the end of the GP season, but with this latest addition to the series we wanted MotoGP and racing fans to have the most up to date content as soon as possible. says Michael Pattison, Capcoms senior European marketing director. Never before will gamers have been able to play with current season content so early in the real world GP season.

MotoGP 09/10 will feature an updated Career mode that includes competing in races as well as managing other aspects of a racing team. Players will be able to hire engineers, team managers and press officers.

For players who arent interested in micromanaging a team through a racing season, MotoGP 09/10 includes an updated Arcade mode. Players wont just be trying to win the race in Arcade mode, theyll also try to complete various challenges for rewards or to penalize their opponents. Players will also be able to race against people from around the world in the Online mode.

MotoGP 09/10 will be available on Microsofts Xbox 360 system and Sonys Playstation3.
