Lorenzo injury update
Dr. Xavier Mir, who operated on Lorenzos right arm in April to relieve compartmental syndrome, examined Lorenzo at the Dexeus Institute in Barcelona, Spain on Monday.
Lorenzo will wear a cast on his right ankle and an elastic support for his left. The Fiat Yamaha rider will be confined to a wheelchair for the time being. Dr. Mir will conduct more detailed tests May 12.
Lorenzo, who sits second in the MotoGP championship standings behind Hondas Dani Pedrosa, was initially diagnosed with a bone chip in his left ankle. He was still able to race in Shanghai following treatment from the Clinica Mobile. Despite his injuries, Lorenzo finished fourth.
