JT Racing Returning to Motocross Business

Motocross gear manufacturer returns in 2011
By Press Release, Nov. 18, 2010
True story. JT Racing USA, the most innovative and legendary motocross gear company of the '70s, '80s and '90s, is back for 2011 with an exciting new line of high-end and uniquely advanced riding gear.

The 2011 Collection makes its sneak-peak debut at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction ceremony in Las Vegas on November 19-20, and is sure to generate a serious buzz at the ceremony and in the months to come. Not only will JT Racing founders John and Rita Gregory be inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame, but several legendary Team JT champions will be on hand to help generate additional excitement, including World Champ Danny LaPorte and AMA champions Broc Glover, Donnie Hansen, Jim Gibson, Ronnie Lechien and Chuck Sun.

Nearly two years in the making, the re-launch of JT Racing USA and the debut of the 2011 Collection represent a major moto-industry achievement. Not only because of the brand's iconic status and substantial impact on motocross and off-road history during the '70s, '80s and '90s, but also due to the surprising level of innovation, quality and style the new Collection offers - the same attributes John and Rita Gregory and their talented team brought to the sport so successfully during motocross's glory decades.

This is not your typical motocross gear line. The 2011 Collection represents a substantial re-think of innovation, functionality, protection and comfort. Our designs, engineering and innovation are nothing short of world class. Just as JT Racing set new standards year-in and year-out back in the day, our goals going into this new venture were to build the best designed, most durable and most functional motocross gear available. And we think we've succeeded.

One look at the innovations and technology built into our new Classick pant, for instance, will convince you. There's optimum cut and high-back waistband for a superb fit, even for larger folks. Super-soft and -durable Grade-A leather inside the knees. Pre-curved and padded ballistic nylon outside them, with plenty of room for knee braces. ALS (Air Line System) for maximum breathability. Stretch sections for maximum movement and much more. Wear a Classick pant for two laps and you'll be a believer - just as our test riders were. "It's a sick pant!" they told us over and over, their input and excitement actually helping us give the pant a name.

Same story with our new gloves, the lightweight Flex-Feel and slightly more protective Life-Line. Both are soft and supple for long-moto comfort, yet built with the protection and durability you need. Ditto our Pro-Tour Jersey, which will keep you cool under pressure but also fit perfectly and stay tucked-in when things get hot and heavy.

Last but not least is our new ALS-02 helmet, which we're confident is the finest motocross helmet around - and for good reason. Its predecessor, JT's original ALS-2 helmet of the early 1980s, turned the motocross world on its axis. As the world's first full-face motocross helmet, it featured full venting, an integrated visor, a built-in goggle strap path and an ultra-radical shape. The ALS helmet revolutionized the MX industry and paved the way for today's highly protective full-face motocross helmets.

The new ALS-02 continues the trend, with hand-laid fiberglass construction offering the highest possible levels of protection and quality. An extra-wide, extra-tall eye port easily accepts today's large-frame goggles, while the integrated goggle-strap path keeps those wide straps securely in place. Superb comfort is realized via an optimized shell shape and internal padding designs. But it's the ALS-02's revolutionary venting system that'll keep you cool and make you a believer. Eleven intake ports and 6 exhaust vents - two at the bottom-rear of the helmet - give truly full-circumference breathability, especially at the lower back of the rider's head, where heat tends to build up. And all with a retro-radical look that's sure to turn heads.

Everything we've done for 2011 has been optimized in the areas of smart design, maximum protection, optimum durability, superb fit and clean styling - just as JT Racing did it back in the day. In place of mind-numbing graphics or boring blacks and greys, our gear melds the classic shapes and colors you remember from the sport's glory days with clean, modern design. Think Bailey, LaPorte and Glover with a modern twist and you're right on target. In fact, much of our inspiration comes from the Gregory's efforts during those wonderful decades.

"What we've done," says JT Racing CEO David Dray, "is bring back the very best of JT Racing. We've taken the best JT designs and technical legacies, modernized them with the latest technology and build quality, and repacked them with the highest levels of style, durability and function. We're bringing back the whole notion of quality and elegance to the motocross world, just as JT Racing did back in the day as it established itself as a world-class motocross brand all those years ago. It's all very exciting!"

JT Racing USA. We're about to make history. Again.

Innovation. Legacy. Passion.
