H-D film contest promotes female riders
The Motor Company is asking women to produce two-minute films expressing the passion and spirit of female riders for the Bike, Camera, Action! contest. One entrant will be selected and awarded with $5,000, a new high-definition video camera, a 105th anniversary Harley-Davidson leather jacket and a chance to present the winning film at a premier party in Los Angeles.
Harley-Davidson sales among women have tripled over the last 20 years and women now make up nearly 12 percent of sales.
More women are getting off the back of the bike and climbing into the seat of their own motorcycle as they see others realizing their dream of riding, says Leslie Prevish, womens outreach manager for Harley-Davidson. This contest aims to capture the passion, self-confidence and beauty of female riders and inspire those who are thinking about riding to grab life by the handlebars and hit the open road.
Entries must be submitted on a CD or DVD by Sept. 30. All eligible entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges on originality, quality of film making and how well it embodies the theme of female motorcycling.
