College football-themed helmets

Show school pride while you ride

By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Nov. 26, 2008
Monarch Sports has produced a line of motorcycle helmets that help riders show their school spirit.

A producer for radio coverage of college football games such as the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Monarch is introducing a line of officially licensed college-themed motorcycle helmets.

The SNELL-approved open-faced helmets are designed to resemble the football helmets worn by popular teams such as Florida, Louisiana State University, Michigan and Fresno State.

“We applaud socially responsible schools for their participation,” says Geoff Nathanson, vice-president of Monarch Sports. “Many students opt for two-wheel transportation to campus and this product offers a smart option to accessorize licensed school apparel and headwear with an approved helmet that shows school spirit and increases safety.”

Will this become a common sight at LSU's Tiger Stadium?Though they are specifically designed for motorcycle and scooter riders, Nathanson says college football fans may leave their helmets on when they arrive at the stadium on game day. “Fans love to display their team spirit while enjoying the comfort and protection the helmet offers from winter football weather,” says Nathanson.

The helmets are manufactured by Pyrotect Safety and feature a hand-laminated lightweight shell and a nylon-knit interior.
