AMA Pro Racing makes personnel changes
An AMA Pro Racing Managing Member, Atlas has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and will handle day-to-day operations.
Atlas has 30 years of experience in motor racing, working with various sanctioning groups, racing teams and in driver management.
Roger Edmondson, AMA Pro Racing president and managing member, is moving to the positions of chairman and chief executive officer. Previously the day-to-day face of AMA Pro Racing since Daytona Motorsports Group acquired the racing series, Edmondson will now focus his attention on the overall direction of AMA Pro Racing.
Vice President of Competition Roy Janson has stepped down from his position. According to AMA Pro Racing, Janson will return to his home in Ohio for non-threatening health concerns. Janson will remain available to AMA Pro Racing as an independent consultant.
Racing and communications veteran John Szymanski has been appointed director of public relations and overall communications. Syzmanski brings 30 years of experience working with teams, drivers, tracks and major manufacturers.
