Like police chases? Of course you do. That’s why you should watch this chase between the ROCAM (the São Paulo police) and this exuberant scooter rider who thought he had the skills to evade the police.

The takeaway here? Both these guys should be signed to SuperEnduro contracts!

Bravo for the Policeman, he sure kept his cool and not overreacted at all. I would already kick the other guy down after the 2 minutes mark.

    • spiff

T bone/block pass. Those cops need to watch supercross.

  • Starmag

I can almost see why some cops inflict a beating for this type of reckless endangerment.

  • Old MOron

That was fooking awesome. Fair play to both of them.

You would probably give it your best shot; too. If you knew cops in Sao Paulo shoot punk kids all the time. And that if you don’t deliver the cash or stock that your boss will probably do the same. This was never going to end well. Desperation, nothing more.

    • Old MOron

Aw man, that’s a sobering perspective.

Well I’ve been stopped plenty of times but never shoot upon. No attempt to separate me an my dough too. But if you try to break a police checkpoint that’s pretty much expected, every now and then there’s a news story about someone that tried this (usually because car taxes were not paid, the license expired or the mandatory helmet is not being used, all license suspending problems) and gets shot.

P.S. nothing against having fun on a scooter but I’m pretty much sure the bike is a small dual sport Honda (NX 150 or 160).

At least they weren’t in cars. Still, I’m of the opinion that relatively few crimes justify high-speed chases that put the general public at risk.

Also, where are they getting “scooter”? Looks like a motorcycle to me…

Better than some action movie chase scenes. All it was missing was some explosions and the escape.

  • blansky

Pretty cool….and stupid at the same time. Either of these guys could have gotten creamed at different times.

Don’t forget these cameras are slightly wide angle usually and they make it look like the speeds are higher than they are.

This could be used in the next Jason Bourne movie (if there is one). And as to the term, to many of us, a scooter is anything with 2 wheels & a motor (all 3 H-D’s, the Concours, the Vulcan Nomad, Virago, KZ1100 et al, that I’ve owned I referred to as scooters). Easier to say than “motorcycle”. Now, “bikes”, to me, are like Schwinns, Mongeese, Raleighs, & so forth.

But that Brazilian cop… gloves, short-sleeved shirt…..both those guys have steel cajones….some pretty gutsy, clever moves in that chase.

I kept hoping for the Cop to crash and be impaled. Very little difference in Good vs Bad guys in Brazil. Actually Cops are worse because they hide behind the Law.

  • krishan adhikari

Keeping the law aside, it was a great demonstration of skill from both the riders.

    • NOT-retarded

absolutely….but why the hell did he stop?
