Since today is basically the last business day before Christmas, I decided to see what moto-present I could give myself for a starting price of $100,000. In this fantasy, I have no limit to the amount I could spend on my internally-combusted art object. I deserve to be pampered after almost completing another year slaving away in the bowels of the MO Towers.
When faced with such an unrealistic task, I naturally turned to the famed Bonhams auction house, a privately owned auction house known throughout the world as the place where one percenters go to buy and sell their exotica – be it jewelry, fine art, or <GASP> motorcycles. Founded in 1793, Bonhams has branches throughout the world. The Las Vegas branch hosts an annual motorcycle auction that attracts the best of the best.
Here’s what I found I could have bought for $100,000 or more at last January’s Bonhams auction. I guess I better start counting my pennies because 2017 is just around the corner.
