These two machines started out as the same motorcycle, Honda’s V-Twin CX500s, but ended up looking very different.  Vintage off-road fans might notice the first one mimics the design and color scheme of the classic ATC250R three-wheeler with its bronze wheels, bright red tank and matching blue seat and shock covers. The other appears to mimic the look of an old-school park ranger vehicle. Both interesting if not quite beautiful!

I’d call them bobbers, not café racers.

The CX500, rode with a friend for years that had one. Me a KZ440, him on his CX. I rode it a few times, swapping with him. He liked the lighter weight of the 440, I liked the power character of the ‘Guzzi style v-twin. A bit industrial looking engine, but that wasn’t a concern for me. He loved the shaft drive and we piled on thousands of miles together, never a reliability issue with his CX. I love seeing other’s ideas and what they can do with the platform. But yeah, Gruf said it, bobbers more than cafe’. Still, about personal interpretation, not what I think and I think they did a great job.

The seat on the red one is waiting for a buttslip to wipe out some family jewels.
