Motorcycle.com Best of 2023

Let the arguments commence!

Holy cow, is it nearly December already? It feels like we just took down our holiday decorations a few days ago, and already, Mariah Carey is haunting our radio stations. We’re not ready to say goodbye to 2023 yet, though, as there is still one important bit of business to take care of.

That’s right, it’s time once again for the Motorcycle.com Best Of (MOBO) awards.

Your faithful MO team gathered together with spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations and brass knuckles to discuss our picks for the best models of 2023. After a lengthy process involving several carafes of coffee, one minor tantrum, a few rounds of rock-paper-scissors, and thankfully, no injuries that will leave a scar, we’ve reached a consensus on the winners and runner-ups for nine different categories:

We’ll kick things off on Nov. 27 with the Best Lightweight/Entry-Level Motorcycle of 2023, and continue announcing MOBO winners every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next three weeks, culminating with our 2023 Motorcycle of the Year announcement on Dec. 15.

Here are the ground rules: to be eligible for MOBO consideration, MO must have tested the bike during the model year, and it has to be available for sale at the time of publication. That last one might rule out some candidates you might be expecting, but it does mean some models that just missed the cut-off last year are now up for nomination.

And because we go through this every year and know what to expect:

  1. Yep, we did forget about that one bike;
  2. No, we didn’t forget that other one, we just didn’t like it;
  3. We’re sorry we didn’t pick your favorite model;
  4. And no, we were not paid off by *REDACTED*. There are better uses for their marketing budget.

With that out of the way, let’s get to it with the 2023 Motorcycle.com Best Of Awards.

    Someone is out of touch, maybe it's me IDK.

    Surprised MO doesn’t have a dual sport category. Not everyone wants to ride a 500+pound tank on a gravel road…
