Triumph Bonnevilles and Street Triple RX Coming to America

During Intermot 2014 at the end of September, Triumph unveiled three new Bonneville models: the Spirit, T214 and Newchurch. It also took the wraps off a stylized new Street Triple RX. Today, Triumph has announced the Street Triple RX and two of the Bonneville models – the T214 and Newchurch (pictured above) – will be making their way to the U.S.

Click the links above to read more about each respective model, but to rehash, the Bonneville T214 pays homage to Johnny Allen and his record-breaking Triumph-powered Cee-Gar streamliner, which in 1956, set the first of many land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats by recording a two-way average of 214.4mph. It also celebrates 100 years of land speed records being set at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

The T214 features a special paint scheme using the distinctive colors of Johnny Allen’s Texas Cee-Gar, of which only 1000 will be produced, each individually numbered. On 6th September 1956, AMA and FIM observers looked on as Allen set the world absolute speed record for a motorcycle at 214.40 mph. The now-classic 1959 Triumph Bonneville was named in tribute to the Texas Cee-Gar team’s record-setting efforts.

The 214.4 mph land speed record lasted until 1962 and was broken by Bill Johnson, riding the nitro methane powered Dudek Triumph streamliner to a speed record of 224.57.

The new Bonneville T214 Limited Edition, based on the T100 Black, pays homage to the remarkable land speed record achievement. The hand painted Caspian Blue and Pure White color scheme complete with red and white checker detailing echoes that of the 1956 Texas Cee-Gar. The blue front mudguard shares the same white star motif from the nosecone of the iconic streamliner. The shortened rear mudguard combined with blacked out wheel rims, handlebars, and rear suspension springs add to the authentic look which is complimented with red seat stitching detail and a smaller front headlight.

Each individually numbered T214 is priced from $9,999. It will be in Triumph dealerships beginning November 2014. As with all Triumphs, the T214 comes with an unlimited mileage, two-year factory warranty. Service intervals are every 6000 miles, or one year, whichever comes first.

The stylized Bonneville Newchurch is styled to celebrate the popular annual international Triumph Tridays festival in Austria. Enhanced styling features include blacked-out fenders, headlamp bowl, handlebars, mirrors and springs.

Every year a small town in the mountains of Austria plays host to the world’s biggest Triumph party as thousands of Triumph fans descend to celebrate their love of the brand and the bikes they own. Featuring everything from outrageous customs to an off-road drag race known as “The Rumble”, the town of Neukirchen has its name changed to Newchurch for the weeklong Tridays party.

To celebrate this passion and energy, Triumph has produced the new Bonneville Newchurch Special Edition. This new model features fresh new contemporary paint schemes, a new low profile seat and with cool black detailing throughout.

Available in a choice of Cranberry Red / Pure White or Sapphire Blue / Pure White, featuring hand painted black detailing, the Bonneville Newchurch will be available in Triumph dealerships in April 2015 and will be priced starting at $8,699. [Update: Triumph announced a correction, stating the Newchurch will only be available in the U.S. in the Cranberry Red / Pure White color scheme]

Lastly, the Street Triple RX melds the existing Street Triple we all know and love with elements of the Daytona 675. Those enhancements include the Daytona 675R’s red subframe, along with Diablo Red wheels, special decals, seat cowl, belly pan and fly screen. The race inspired quickshifter comes standard, as does the Striking Matt Aluminum silver paint scheme.

The 675cc inline-Triple, one of our favorite engines, remains, complemented with fully adjustable KYB suspension. Braking comes from 310mm discs fitted with standard, switchable ABS.

Since the Street Triple RX is pretty stylish, Triumph is including an engine immobilizer, while further security can be found via a Triumph D lock accessory that stows under the seat.

Comprehensive LCD digital instrumentation includes a built-in lap timer, programmable gear shift lights, fuel gauge, clock and gear position indicator, as well as a large, clear tachometer and digital speedo. The clocks can also display front and rear tire pressures when the optional Triumph Tyre Pressure Monitoring System is fitted.

The new Street Triple Rx will be available in dealerships February 2015 and will be priced at $11,199.
