The fastest 10 racers from each races qualifying session will have a chance to win the pole in the Pirelli Superpole run-off. Starting in reverse order from the 10th fastest, each racer will get one solo lap to establish their final qualifying time. Getting the fastest lap will earn the pole position and a C$500 bonus. Each of the top 10 finalists is guaranteed a spot in the first 10 on the starting grid, even if they fail to finish a lap in the run-off.
Qualifying for our races has been very close, with pole position often settled by less than a tenth of a second, says Colin Fraser of Professional Motorsports Productions, the operators of the Parts Canada Superbike Championshp series. With only one bike on track at a time, spectators will be better able to follow the action and racers wont have to worry about a slower bike possibly spoiling a fast lap.
Riders who finish outside the top ten in the qualifying session will be positioned on the grid based on their times. In the event of rain, the Superpole run-off will be cancelled and the qualifying session times will be used to determine all starting positions.
