2006 Yamaha Warrior

American males have been fighting the mid life crisis for years. One way to handle it is to go out and buy that one car that has alluded them all their earlier life. How many old geysers have you seen in the Porsche? I rest my case. Now motorcycle wise, I haven't got it quite figured out yet. ... You see there is this bagger craze right now. Don't get me wrong but to me it is similar to a guy buying a station wagon as a mid life crisis-mobile. Why on earth do that? You want to cure that crisis so where is the sports car? Well, here it is. No, the Warrior isn't comparable to a Porsche, I guess the VROD would be close......(considering it is a Porsche mill anyhow). The Warrior is more comparable to say a big block pony car. Say a 396 camaro with a 4 speed. Doesn't handle the very best but better than a bagger (station wagon). Not as good as a sports car (sport bike). Big block torque and a close ratio five speed is the hot set up for stop light to stop light drag racing. It has all the right curves and a fat rear tire. You can even find a factory ghost flame paint job. This bike screams "I am dealing with my mid life crisis right now so back the **** off!

Seriously, the warrior is a well thought out machine. Aluminum frame, R-1 inspired front suspension, fjr brakes and an awesome lean angle for the twisties. No plasic on this scooter either. All steel or aluminum. There is not an after market performance market like Harley but it is still better than most imports. You can re-cam, big bore, high compression pistons and the like. With almost a stock bike Patrick Racing swept the hot rod cruiser class drags 6 years running with this bike. No body else could compete so they dropped the class. That is a pretty good selling point. I suppose the only thing this bike isn't good at is long distance running. With a few mods it is fairly comfortable but there is no getting around that 3.5 gallon tank. You will be stopping every 140 miles. The bike is built tough. Heavy duty transmission and transfer case shifts like butter. Eats rear tires at a rate that might make you think Yamaha owns stock in every tire company making a 200.50.17 tire.

Best part about it is that this bike is a conversation starter every where you go. From the "what is it?" comments to the "pretty bike" & "is it fast?" questions, you will talk to strangers.

This bike is sweet! Powerful, Torquey and looks super cool! It handles a lot like a sportbike thanks to the inverted forks, light aluminum frame and radial sport tires (200 section rear). Plus it stops on a dime. If you are in the market for a motorcycle, you must check into this one in your hunt. ... I've rode sport bikes and other cruisers, but I wouldn't choose any other bike besides this one.

I LOVE MY BIKE! IT HAS PLENTY OF POWER, SPEED AND AGILITY FOR A CRUISER. WITH A FEW MODS SUCH AS VANCE & HINES PIPES AND FLAT BARS, IT'S THE PERFECT BIKE! I RECOMMEND THIS TO CRUISER AND SPORT BIKE BUYERS.

With a little tweaking and less than $1000 the Warrior is the best bike I have owned. I am 6'3" and 230 lbs. It hauls me around like I'm 100 lbs lighter. A little remap, exhaust change and extended controls is all that was needed to make a perfect ride . It handles well, stops perfectly and corners ... like it's on rails. A little thirsty but that goes with the horsepower.
