Good Solid Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 17, 2012Too bad Yamaha has discontinued this bike in 09 and replaced it with a belt driven 950. The 1100 is a good solid bike. Low seat height and well balanced for around town and good enough suspension for long rides. Noticed that when running 70 at interstate speeds its a little "buzzy" as if it needs ... a 6th gear. Not quite as much torque as my old Vulcan 1500 obviously, but has plenty to get the job done. Looks great too as most newer bikes are going with the chopper look with more rake and swooping handlebars. Can't believe there is no fuel gauge however! Beginners should opt for the 1100 over an 800 as they will appreciate the extra power later.

V Star 1100 Classic
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Aug 24, 2012I bought this bike in early 2009 with 3500 miles. It has a Kyuriakin hypercharger, full Cobra pipes, Jet kit, Mustang seat(BUY RIGHT AWAY IF YOU GET A VSTAR OF ANYKIND). It sat for 2 yrs while i had a back injury. I now have 9800 miles on it and nothing has been replaced. Regular oil changes with ... AmsOil. It has plentyof power for what we need it for. I am 5'11" 245 lbs and my wife is 5'10" below 175lbs. It will cruise at 80mph all day long. At 60 or 65 mph trips i get 55-60 mpg regularly. Worst mpg was about 48 best was 67. Only thing that I dont like is I am still searching for another gear sometimes.

1100 Classic
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 11, 2009Bought mine in the spring and put 2500 miles on it during the summer. No problems at all. My only complaint is that the oil change is much harder than some bikes and I ended up putting on an Oil Filter Relocation kit by Barrons. Now my oil changes take 15 minutes instead of 90!. This is a great bike ... for the money, looks, sounds and rides great!

Great all around bike for beginner or experienced alike!
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 08, 2009My 2005 V-Star 1100 Classic now has upwards of 34,000 miles and is still going strong. There are loads of both factory and aftermarket accessories available to make it truly yours. I have ridden from NJ to Key West FL (And back) on one road trip, and to Atlanta GA on another. Bike loves long chunks ... of superslab as much as in town rides. Low seat height and great balance make it a good bike for smaller riders and beginners as well. Handles well, though the floorboards do scrape if cornering is "spirited". I truly have no complaints other than I wish it were fuel injected. Listening Yamaha/Star?
