Suzuki LS 650 red cruiser S40

I now have 21k miles on my 06 S40. Since I put a new rebuilt carb I bought from ebay it almost eliminated the backfire issue and runs great! I have done long rides from Snyder to Lubbock TX 200+ miles round trip and it runs great. It does run out of steam somewhat at 65 mph but that is quick enou...gh for me. I have put a new carb on her 3 sets of tires front and back new fork seals 1x new windshield did my own valve adjustments and oil changes every 3 months worn out 3 different saddlebags 4 new batteries one was a Shorei replaced brake pads shop ruined 2 of my rear wheels putting tires on them so I do that myself now bought a nomar tire changer and a new wheel off ebay note parts are cheap and plenty on ebay did buy a new verslagen cam chain adjuster and will put that on. have to adjust clutch about once a year. taken care of so far engine has been bulletproof I run her hard and will rebuild engine when the time comes but right now near zero oil usage no leakage. The oil filler tends to leak just put the small inside O ring off the oil filter on it and that will fix the leak. New brake pads front and shoes on back. Brakes are good no complaints has good torque about 44 mpg average replaced several turn signal lights that I broke sliding on gravel roads. I ride on gravel roads and enjoy it but you have to watch the sliding. Bike will last as long as you want as long as you fix er. Recommend using J Paige method when adjusting valve. I love my S40 ride it everyday and put as many miles as I can also replaced spark plug once. This is a fun bike to ride and would recommend to anyone who does not want a big heavy bike. Fast enough in town, actually really fun to hop around on with friends. Can beat the traffic, unfortunately top speed is not good. This bike struggles at highway speeds. I also dislike Suzuki now because of stupid little problems with this bike. Little things like wiring, since my headlights came un...plugged one day. The good news is the high gas mileage and the ease of working on this simple motorcycle. I average 52 miles per gallon city or highway pretty evenly. Read Full Review
