Cali Classic 125
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 08, 2011My girlfriend and I got these for $2200 each O.T.D. (we live in California) and we love them. Nice zippy scooters that have a sleek classic look. Super easy maintenance and very comfortable to ride. I have a couple friends with 150cc scooters and this 125 runs about the same. I also own a 500cc motorcycle ... but have more fun on my Lance. Just twist and go! I highly recommend this scooter.

Nice ride, but a couple things concern me.
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 20, 2011Got 170 miles on it, and loving it. Super smooth ride.
The reason I got this bike vs. a Buddy, Vino, and others is its physical size. I am nearly 200 lbs, and my wife 120. We wanted something we could both ride comfortably. The Cali 125 is the only thing that fits the bill. ... Very comfy with both of us on it, and it has the power to move us.
But a couple things concern me in regards to fit and finish. The big one was that it was shipped with almost no gear oil in it. I discovered this when I did the recommended gear oil change at 150 miles. The manual says there should be 90 to 100 cc's of oil (a bit over 3 ounces), but only 1/2 an ounce came out! The dealer said there should be no damage if it was running ok. No response from Lance as of yet.
Another thing - The headlamp position. It cannot be moved up enough as the speedo assembly is in the way. (At max height, the high beam was pointed at the ground about 10 feet in front of the bike.) The dealer said the solution is to bend the speedo bracket back by hand. This worked, but kind of a hack.
The manual itself is written in typical 'Engrish.' A small matter, but leaves an impression of lack of effort toward quality and service by the company. Hell, hire me.
Finally - the colors. Mist green and 'sand' (beige) may work for your bathroom decor, but not on a scoot. There is a red, black, white and silver, but how about a blue or British racing green?

2010 Cali Classic 125
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Jun 05, 2011Best scooter for the dollar out there. I got mine at Second City Scooters in Chicago, a nice light blue color with top case and a free helmet for under $2,600 out the door! The scooter is perfect for the city. Great acceleration and goes fast enough for Lake Shore Drive traffic. The shocks are ... smooth on the streets.
My only gripe is that the 105 mpg is only if you average 30 mph. Since I do 45-50 regularly, I get about 75-80 mpg only.
Everybody wants to to know where I got it and all about it. So far no issues at all at about 1,200 miles.

Lance (SYM) Cali Classic
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 23, 2011We have had this scooter for a year now. So far no problems except a sticky gas gauge that we unstuck. The bike runs great! Love the retro style - we used to ride a Chinese Lance Vintage, but this bike is so much better made. No rusty handlebars, no oil leaks, everything works! Very happy with this ... - we are getting another one so we don't have to share.
