From viewpoint of sport touring rider
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Nov 08, 2012Been riding M/C for many years. About 3 years ago I bought a Kymco Super 8 150cc.Loved it, it's great for around town. Its 14" wheels made it a very agile scooter. But I sometimes had a need to get on the freeway briefly especially when you live in Orange County So Cal. So I bought a secondhand Grand ... Vista 3 weeks ago. Got a little nervous first time on freeway because I am used to bigger motorcycle, but found out that I not only keep up with traffic, I actually having fun. The fairings on this scooter are excellent. I made top speed of 91 MPH on one strecht of the 405... sshh !(the ODO usually 5 MPH less than actual speed) and it is surprisingly very solid. I am 5'7" 150# and it fits me perfect. the only complaint is...due to its 12" wheels, it is a little hard to maneuver at low speed in the parking lot but oncce you get above 25MPH it is easier
Highly recommend Kymco ( do not buy cheap chinese scooter )
Keep the rubber sides down!!! B. Pham

Great Scooter
By (I am a Writer) on Apr 27, 2012I have 64 miles on the Grand Vista, I am 5'10, and 270 pounds, have no trouble doing 65 miles and hour with it. Only problem I have had was with the engine idle, but with a trip to the Dealer and ten minutes, problem solved. Great scooter a little rocket, for the money you get alot. Well appointed.

Great scooter!
By (I am an Owner) on May 07, 2009If you are looking for a great scooter that gives you the power of a motorcycle, this is for you. The bike is very responsive and handles very well. I was concerned about the 12 inch tires but I have not noticed any issues even at 80mph on the highway! It will also double two adults and, in my ... opinion, actually handles better with two people. You do notice the engine working a little harder but not an issue and it still powers off the line and up hills at comfortable speeds with plenty in reserve. The only complaint is the amount of leg room if you are above 5'10". The positioning of the seat 'bump' will cause your back to hurt a little if you are taller due to the change in your overall position on the bike. The digital speedometer is a big hit with everything you need to know right in front of you. I would say that it could use a little more umph in the styling of the speedometer but great overall.
If you are considering a maxi-scooter - you should really give this one a test drive. I have compared it to Honda, Yamaha and Piaggio and for the money - you get a lot more with Kymco. The warranty is outstanding at 2 years and for a small amount of money - it can be extended to 5 years with unlimited mileage. Well worth the cost.
