Comfort with big power
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 06, 2012I rebuild and sell wrecked bikes, had all kinds and kept more than few for myself.ZX14 does it all, enough room for 2 with comfort, but still a sport bike. Not as fast on backroad as my CBR 1000.But if you have riding skills nobody will leave you behind.Im 6foot1 and Busas just dont fit me for more ... than a joy ride. The 14 is a very easy bike to ride if you have moderate skills and respect for big power.Havent enjoyed a bike this much since my GS1100e from back in the day.I sold my blackbird after purchasing my 14.Need I say more.

Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 07, 2009This is my first sportbike, so I might not have the best insight as far as performance goes, but I absolutely love this bike. I rode a 1998 Honda Shadow until I bought this bike. Needless to say the Shadow hasn't been started since I bought the ZX-14. I rode it from Elk City, OK to Ft. Smith, ... AR. Then I rode up to Fayetville and back to Elk City. I was never that comfortable on my "cruiser", and I have never rode anything that was that much fun. The closest thing would be a dirt bike.

Excellent Sport Touring Mount
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 06, 2009The 2008 Kawasaki ZX-14 is one of the finest sport touring machines out there with emphasis on "sport" when you want it and comfort all the way. Logging 700-800 days for weeks at at a time are within reason for this quiet rocket. Every other bike I have ever had required a Corbin seat but not this ... one. The only room for improvement are the stock Bridgestone rubbers which give up after 7000 miles and the low clip on bars. (The bars are acutally fine for Freeway jaunts but will wear you out after a day of low-speed backroad touring). Gravel roads are no problem either, despite the endless power of this machine, because it is easy to modulate from idle to redline. Everything I've read about the smoothness of this engine is true and it definately explains why you do not feel beat-up at the end of the day. The only thing I will change on the ZX-14 to make it perfect is to add bar risers and sport touring rubber. This is the bike that will do the country right out of the box (40 miles for every gallon of Premium) with just yourself, 2 weeks of gear, and a can of chain lube tucked in your tailbag.

ZX-14,,, MORE THAN JUST A MOTOR !!
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Oct 13, 20084,000rpm to 600mi. and 7,000rpm to 1000mi. is kawi's break-in period..i discovered during those easy riding miles that this a overall great motorcycle, and not just a platform for a monster motor..handling,comfort and overall compedence(and monster low end torque)have made the high rpm rush secondary ... too me now..thats sayin' alot
with that magnificent motor between yer legs..been riding for 40+ years and owned 50+ motorcycles(including many of the alltime greats) so i know where i'm comin' from...this bike renders my wonderful FZ-1 somewhat crude...and again thats sayin' a lot.........
