2012 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure
just the bestBy (I am an Owner) on Jul 30, 2012
I have a 2012 R1200 GSA. I've ridden a long time (since 1968, oh well) and had many (30, oh well again) motorcycles, many BMW's and a few GS's actually. I have never had a bike better balanced, powered, fueled, braked, wind protected -- this flawless-- before. It is simply the very best motorcycle ... for the real world I have ever had. I'm 5'11 and have no problem with the standard seat, the bike does not feel heavy in almost any circumstances, steers with both the front and back very controllably and naturally and carries huge loads, not to mention a boat load of gas with no problems. I don't know who is compiling reviews that would measure that a Husky 310 or a KLR 650 are "better" bikes. They are great bikes, but it they are not even remotely similar, nevermind better. If you want a bike to point to the other side of the country on whatever you surface you find along the way, go fishing or go to work every day, or go to the store and seriously get *all* the groceries in those Touratech boxes, or whatever, on this one you can do any of that and do 150 kmiles of it. The R1200 GSA is just the best all around motorcycle I personally have experienced. I sold my other bikes. Just saying. Anyway, everybody ride whatever you have, they're all a great way to travel!
