WSBK: Single-spec support class announced

Make and model to be announced
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Oct. 30, 2009
Infront Motor Sports has announced a new single-spec series to run at select World Superbike events in 2010 and 2011.

The ParkinGo World Series Trophy will be held at seven WSBK rounds: Valencia, Assen, Monza, Misano, Brno, Donington Park and Nurburgring.

The single-spec series is the brainchild of Giuliano Rovelli, chairman of Oasi Handling Group which includes title sponsor ParkinGo. ParkinGo is also title sponsor of World Supersport team BE1 Racing with former AMA racer Chaz Davies riding a Triumph Daytona 675. The make and model for the spec race motorcycle will be announced shortly.

By investing in an internationally acclaimed sporting activity of this caliber we have chosen to highlight our company traits which we recognize in motor-cycling in general and in the Superbike World Championship in particular, values such as: courage, passion, efficiency and strength, all of which are basic components of my professional experience, says Rovelli. Hence my desire to create a new one-make trophy and name it after my company: ParkinGO World Series.

ParkinGo will also sponsor the three Italian WSBK rounds at Monza, Misano and Imola.

We are delighted to have reached this accord with the Oasi Handling Group, says Paolo Flammini, chief executive officer of WSBK rightsholder Infront Motor Sports. We have had the opportunity to get to know Giuliano Rovelli over the years in his role as owner of the Triumph BE1 Racing team and we are sure that thanks to his dynamism and entrepreneurial skill, he will be able to give the right impulse to guarantee the success of this new trophy.
