How do you scrub-in new tires?

I just bought a set of new Pirelli Diablo tires. Needless to say they are as slick as a babies bottom for the first few corners.Does anyone out there have a great procedure or product(s) they use to manually scrub down their tires when new?
I'm tired of the squirrelly performance for the first few miles, especially since I had to do an emergency counter steer before I had even ridden one mile with the new tires mounted.
