Big Dog Milestone

Press Release from Big Dog:

Wichita, KS - Big Dog Motorcycles hits 5000. In a major announcement from Big Dog world headquarters, company officials released news of their 5000th production motorcycle. Big Dog Motorcycles started production in 1995 with total production of 42 motorcycles. Since 1995, Big Dog Motorcycle sales have expanded rapidly as demand has increased and the dealer network enlarged.Total production for 2003 is slated at 3000 units.

Figuring out which model would be the 5000th was hard for Big Dog management, with six different models to choose from. The release of the 2003 Chopper earlier this year has turned out to be an overwhelming success for Big Dog Motorcycles and was unanimously chosen to be the 5000th Big Dog.

Inspired by classic choppers of the past and Big Dog's continued commitment to cutting edge design, the 2003 Chopper is the result of Big Dog's corporate push to exceed the expectations of today's riders.Through the entire R&D process, special attention was put into developing a Chopper that was visually appealing but offered excellent riding characteristics. The Chopper is powered by a 107 cubic-inch engine and features a hidden shock frame, 6-speed Baker transmission with a super-fat 250 rear tire.

In a nod to yesteryear, Big Dog Motorcycles 5000th Special Edition Chopper gets a coat of nostalgia with a custom American flag paint job. The Special Edition bike will be on touring display at consumer events and Big Dog dealer open houses throughout the year.

"This is a milestone for Big Dog Motorcycles," said Nick Messer, president of Big Dog Motorcycles.

Messer continued, "Having 5,000 Big Dog motorcycles on the road has long been an important goal. It signals a powerful acceptance of our product and confidence in our company. We'd like to thank our hard working dealer network, our excellent suppliers and our fantastic employees. But most of all,we'd like to thank our thousands of riders who have made Big Dog motorcycles their bike of choice."

Big Dog Motorcycles, LLC manufactures a line of heavyweight cruisers centered on a 107-cubic-inch V-Twin engine. The company sells its motorcycles across the United States through a growing number of authorized dealers. Big Dog Trademarks Are Under License From Big Dog Holdings, Inc.
