Ducati North America announced a 68% increase in retail sales over the first quarter of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010.

The first quarter marked the third consecutive quarter of increased North American sales for Ducati. According to Ducati, sales were up across its entire 2011 model lineup.

“We have had an outstanding start to the year,” says Cristiano Silei, chief executive officer of Ducati North America. “We expect our growth to continue strong for the rest of the year with our most sought out newest product, the Diavel, just hitting dealer showrooms in late March.”

The Ducati Diavel and other new models such as the Monster 1100EVO and Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak Special Edition are expected to help maintain Ducati's momentum through the second quarter.

Ducati expects demand to remain high in the second quarter with the introduction of the Diavel as well as the Monster 1100EVO and the Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak Special Edition. Ducati has named April “Diavel Ride Month” with select dealers offering test rides of the company’s new sports cruiser.
