2011 Triumph Adventure Models Teased
2011 Triumph Adventure models teased
Details are still scarce, though Triumph has released a teaser video and a new website for the two models using the codename Triumph Adventure. The new models will enter a suddenly competitive segment currently led by BMWs GS models, but with new contenders in the Ducati Multistrada 1200 and Yamaha Super Ténéré.
The Triumph Adventure site displays three timers counting down to when Triumph will release information about the engines (set for Aug. 4), chassis (Sept. 1) and clothing and accessories (Oct. 6). Triumph is expected to officially unveil the two models in November at the EICMA show in Milan. A teaser video was released on Youtube while the Triumph Adventure site contains an extended version.
Spy shots of the two models were published in the new issue of Britains MCN magazine, and Triumph has republished MCNs photographs on its own official Facebook page.
The two models fit into Triumphs plan to add seven new motorcycles by 2012. Triumph had also previously announced it is diversifying its product line, growing to seven product families from three. Up until recently, Triumphs 16 models fit into three categories, Urban Sports, Modern Classics and Cruisers. Triumph now lists its products under six categories, Adventure, Classics, Cruisers, Roadsters, Supersports and Touring, with the seventh category still to come. The two new models will be slotted into the Adventure group alongside the Tiger.
