2009 BMW Motorrad Days events
Over 34,000 Beemer enthusiasts visited the town in southern Germany for last years festivities, and BMW has prepared several activities to welcome visitors to this years event.
The BMW Motorrad Motorsport World Superbike Championship team will be in attendance. Former WSBK champion Troy Corser and teammate Ruben Xaus will attend autograph and photo sessions, along with their S1000RR race bikes. The serial production version of the S1000RR will also make its general public debut at BMW Motorrad Days.
Motorcycle stunt performer Chris Pfeiffer will return once again to perform at BMW Motorrad Days. In February, Pfeiffer won his third consecutive Indoor Streetbike Freestyle World Championship.
Visitors can take part in test rides of current BMW Motorrad models through the Garmisch-Partenkirchen surroundings. BMW will also hold a draw for a chance to win a F800R and a F800GS.
Female riders can join in special tours for women, with BMW motorcycles with lowered seats.
Motorcycle adventurer Michael Martin will be present to talk about his latest project, Planet Desert. Martin will also provide tips for riders interested in taking motorcycle trips to remote regions.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Bavarian band Blechblosn. Returning to perform at their fifth BMW Motorrad Days, the band blends Bavarian folk songs with heavy metal and rock classics with their trademark brass sound. German band Gary and Gerry and their Used Underwear is also scheduled to perform.
