New Akrapovi Exhaust System for 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa
Akrapovič has released a new Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system for the 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa, claiming an 8.6-pound reduction in weight compared to the stock exhaust.
The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system with its laser-engraved Akrapovič logo is a unique design that integrates seamlessly within the lines of the bike’s futuristic appearance and was developed with effective aerodynamics in mind, because the Hayabusa model has one of the highest top speeds among motorcycles.
The black-coated titanium outer sleeve and carbon fiber end caps and heat shields blend in better with the 2022 Hayabusa’s three paint options. Installation is a simple plug-and-play with no need for remapping.
As a fully EC/ECE type approvedstreet-legal system, the twin mufflers each contain a catalytic converter to fully comply with Euro 5 requirements. Measured on Akrapovič’s dyno, the Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhausts add 1.2 hp to the Hayabusa’s peak horsepower, and a difference of 1.6 hp at 8700 rpm. Peak torque sees an increase of 1.1 lb-ft. compared to the stock exhaust, and a maximum gain of 1.4 lb-ft. at 8400 rpm.
While those gains are fairly modest, the Akrapovič Sip-On Line offers a significant weight savings. Akrapovič claims the twin exhausts combine to weigh 18.5 pounds, a 31.6% weight savings compared to the 27.1 pound stock mufflers.
Akrapovič also offers a Racing Line (Titanium) full system upgrade for the Hayabusa that claims an improvement of 7.8 hp and 4.0 lb-ft. over the stock system (with a max gain of 8.7 hp at 9900 rpm and 4.2 lb-ft. at 8000 rpm), while claiming an even lighter weight of 14.3 pounds (30.8 pounds lighter than the stock parts) thanks in good part to the use of just a single muffler. Unfortunately, that product does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use.
