Weekend Awesome – Behold The Jet-Cycle!

The only thing missing from this edition of the Weekend Awesome is Kenny Loggins singing “Danger Zone” and Tom Cruise playing beach volleyball in a pair of jeans.

Commuters in Tampa, Fla. such as the person filming this week’s video were treated to the site of the Freedom 1 Jet-Cycle, a Honda Gold Wing modified to look like an F-106 Delta Dart fighter jet. Created by Ron Gallops, the Freedom 1 features a full jet-style cockpit and a custom-built turbine that burns actual JP-4 jet fuel.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about the Freedom 1 is that it is completely street legal, although Gallops folds up the wings so it doesn’t get too wide for traffic. Gallops displays the Freedom 1 at air shows and other events where he can put the wings down and fire up that afterburner.

For more information, visit Gallops’ website or see pictures on the Quail Run RV Resort Facebook page.
