Honda Motocompacto in Photos

The Honda Motocompo was produced from 1981 to 1983 with a compact foldable form factor for easy storage.

The handlebars can be folded up and hidden in the top compartment while the seat recesses into the body. The footpegs also fold upward, creating a very compact package.

The Motocompo was marketed as an accessory to the Honda City car, which was designed with a storage compartment specifically designed for the foldable scooter.

The Motocompo was powered by a 49cc air-cooled two-stroke claiming 2.5 hp at 5,000 rpm and 2.7 lb-ft. at 4,500 rpm.

The Motocompacto, meanwhile, is fully electric.

Where the Motocompo looks very much a product of the early '80s, the Honda Motocompacto has a modern, almost Apple-like aesthetic. Honda opted for white bodywork with minimal branding to make a the Motocompacto a blank canvas for customization.

The slot on the right side behind the footpegs houses the kickstand and a welded steel locking loop that should fit most bike locks.

When folded up, the Motocompacto measures 29.2 inches by 21.1 inches by 3.7 inches.

In ready-to-ride mode, the Motocompacto measures 38.1 inches by 35.0 inches by 17.2 inches, with a 24.5-inch seat height.

The top view really highlights how slender the Motocompacto really is.

The charger can be stored inside the Motocompacto's body. Honda says the battery can get a full charge in 3.5 hours.

The Motocompacto is driven by a 490W front wheel hub motor.

The rear wheel extends from the rear but doesn't provide any propulsion.

A small LCD shows the speed, ride mode, battery charge, Bluetooth connectivity, headlight and lock status.

In riding configuration, there is only one visible cable for the brake lever. Everything else is hidden for a clean look.

The saddle isn't very large, as it has to be able to stow away inside the body.
