Begin Press Release:
Hot Leathers Heads to Sturgis, Full Line of Official 77th Anniversary Apparel
Sturgis, SD, and Manchester, CT (Aug 03, 2017) – Hot Leathers, the industry leader in motorcycle apparel and accessories, has big things planned for the 2017 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
First on the docket, the premiere motorcycle clothing company is proud to sponsor the 3rd annual Aidan’s Ride Sturgis on Tuesday August 8th. Held to benefit the Aidan Jack Seeger foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), this charity ride will feature 70 miles of some of the best riding the Black Hills has to offer. Starting at Sturgis Guns, participants wend their way up Vanocker Canyon to Nemo guest ranch, decamp for a stretch of the legs, then continue on to Murphy’s Pub in Rapid City, SD, for a catered brunch. Then it’s I-90 to Fort Meade Road for some gravel riding and back to the Buffalo Chip by 1:45 p.m. to catch the Sportster Show.
“We’re grateful to Hot Leathers and everyone at Sturgis who believes in our mission,” says Elisa Seeger, founder of the foundation. “We won’t stop until all 50 states have newborn screening for ALD.”
Hot Leathers is also happy to sponsor the 10th annual Sturgis Buffalo Chip Legends Ride on Monday August 7th. Since its inception in 2008, the Legends Ride has raised over half a million dollars for local charities in the Black Hills area. Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts, including many celebrities, participate in this iconic event every year, fostering bonds of friendship and camaraderie as they break bread, visit and ride together to benefit good causes.
In addition, Hot Leathers is partnering with Michael Lichter’s Motorcycles as Art exhibit to bring its latest iteration to the world-famous Sturgis Buffalo Chip. Featuring 38 builders under the age of 36, Old Iron Young Blood is showcasing the next generation of motorcycle master builders. Hand-selected by exhibit curator Michael Lichter, these up-and-coming designers use classic materials and new ideas to fashion the future of motorcycle building.
Finally, Hot Leathers is proud to sponsor the 9th Annual Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s Biker Belles Celebration. On Tuesday, August 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., hundreds of motorcyclists will join together to celebrate the passion, diversity and spirit of women in motorcycling and raise funds for organizations benefitting women’s causes. The ride begins at The Chip and culminates in the Celebration and Symposium at The Lodge at Deadwood, where storied women motorcyclists and industry leaders like Malinda Johnson, Valerie Thompson, Lisa Bone and others will participate in a panel exploring how motorcycling features prominently in many women’s lives and the positive impact women as a whole have had on motorcycling.
“We’re thrilled to help support so many worthy causes and artistic endeavors within the motorcycling community,” says Andy George, Hot Leathers Executive Vice President.
And of course Hot Leathers will have exclusive 77th Anniversary Sturgis designs that will only be available at this special rally, as well as a wide array of custom clothing from some of the hottest bike builders and personalities in the world.
Back for only the second time at Sturgis, Hot Leathers will display the complete range of new Paul Yaffe’s Bagger Nation product. If you missed seeing all of the Bagger Nation merchandise in person last year, now’s your chance. Every Hot Leathers location in Sturgis will carry the entire Paul Yaffe collection, which will feature brand-new designs that haven’t been shown or sold before.
Thursday August 10th Hot Leathers will sponsor the Cycle Source Magazine ride in bike show. Sign-ups start at 10 a.m. and go until 2 p.m. with 20 different bike show classes and tons of prizes including a full rolling chassis to the best of show winner.
Also featured for its second year at Sturgis, legendary bike builder Billy Lane’s line of Choppers Inc. merchandise will be available at all Hot Leathers locations. Hot Leathers and Billy Lane have collaborated to bring motorcycle enthusiasts new takes on old designs, as well as brand new creations in a collection of Billy Lane/Choppers Inc. merchandise manufactured by Hot Leathers. The debut of the new Sons of Speed Vintage Motorcycle Racing apparel will happen in conjunction with the first Sons of Speed Race on Thursday August 10th at noon.
As always, Hot Leathers offers superior motorcycle apparel and accessories at prices to fit any budget, and the Sturgis 77th Anniversary, Billy Lane and Paul Yaffe lines of merchandise are no exception. Rally goers are also encouraged to check out Hot Leathers’ Builder’s Row Licensed Apparel line, featuring merchandise from Chaos Cycle, Jeff Cochran Speedking Racing, Led Sled Customs, Speed Merchant, FTW Maine and Sacred Steel. Consumers will be pleasantly surprised at the affordability of all of this eye-catching and high-quality gear, and you can bet a good portion of the 500,000+ men, women and children flocking to the Black Hills in August will be outfitted in new Hot Leathers gear.
It is estimated that over half a million riders will descend on the Black Hills for this year’s rally, and the events and entertainment slated for the 77th are shaping up. Musical guests throughout the week include Ozzy Osbourne, Drowning Pool, Ratt, Night Ranger, Shinedown, Doobie Brothers, Justin Moore, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackberry Smoke, Ozzy Ozbourne, Pop Evil, Blink 182, George Thorogood and the Destroyers and Blue Oyster Cult . Dozens of other great bands will play the world-famous Buffalo Chip and additional venues all rally long. The number of bike shows, demo rides, poker runs and various competitions seems to grow by the day, and Hot Leathers will be right in the thick of it, offering up the best motorcycle gear in the country.
If that isn’t enough Hot Leathers will be debuting the official Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 78th logo on Main St. in Sturgis on Wednesday August 9th at noon.
