Marc Marquez is in the New York Times
The New York Times published a piece recently following (not) everyone’s favorite three-time MotoGP champion Marc Márquez on his trip home to Cervera, Spain, fresh off of collecting his third world championship. Raphael Minder follows Márquez’s travels home for the off-season to spend time with his family, in which we learn a bit more about the roots of Márquez’s talent as a motorcyclist as well as the trials of a family struggling to afford racing for their sons. The piece recounts Márquez’s humble beginnings and ascension to greatness, with quotes from the legendary Freddie Spencer, whose records for youngest MotoGP race winner and world champion were shattered by Márquez. You can find the article here, an interesting read as well as a classic story of achieving greatness through perseverance.
