Best Kept Touring Secret

I have owned my 2005 RSV for about 6 months now and the only complaint I have is the weight. But you may want to take that with a grain of salt because I am 5'6" and weigh 170lbs and previously rode a Suzuki sportbike. Once I got used to slow-speed handling and parking though, I wondered why I ...waited to get one. My passenger is just as comfortable as I am on the ride. It turns many heads because many people are always trying to guess what it is. I got the Midnight version which is black with gunmetal gray badging on it. I play my iPod through the existing stereo system and it sounds great. The only modifications I have made are adding a lowering kit (about 2-3 inches), which makes for easier movement during parking, etc and I finally found a drivers backrest. The longest ride I have done on it in one day was 175 miles, I can't wait to get it out on a long cross-country ride. The only other thing that I may do is add some pipes for a little rumble. This is the first bike that I have had that I have not had aftermarket pipes or slip-ons added within a week of purchasing the bike. My only fear is that I will lose some of the stereo sound, but trust me it is plenty loud on the interstate with the cruise control set at 80 miles per hour. The only thing that I could think of that Yamaha is missing is adding reverse on it similar to the Goldwing, because I am fairly certain that they are comparable in weight. Read Full Review

Best Bike for the money

I have owned my 2005 Midnight Venture since I bought it new. 8 years later and all I have had to do is regular maintenance. Tires, oil, brakes and batteries for 8 years and 22,000 miles. In upstate NY with rotten weather and even more rotten roads that says a lot. I wish my cars were this reliable a...nd fun. I'll own it until I ride through Heaven's Gate. cant wait...i do feel that yamaha
should fuel inject this bike...and lower the new price on the 2011...there goin to make it hard for some to afford,
plus comes with a 5 yr warrenty...
