Lance Havana Classic 125. SYM built, SYM quality

My Havana is a great step up from the cheap Chinese Lance Venice. It is built by SYM and the quality shows. The ride is very smooth and comfortable with good handling - I like the 12" front wheel. The engine is reliable and starts easily every time.

Zippy and quick performance - this 125cc is... faster and smoother than my old Chinese 150cc.

Let's be fair here folks...

The negative reviews come from dying at an intersection because of poor assembly (which happens at the dealership), and because Lance used to sell cheap Chinese knock-offs before that partnered with Sym, the reputable Taiwanese brand. As for my review, I'll review as a standard consumer and scooter ...noob who got this scooter for a daily 9 mile round-trip commute to the train stop. This thing does exactly what I ask it to do. It gets me through the first and last leg of my daily commute safely, and quickly. I have had no problems except on cold days when I'm in too much of a rush to let it warm up. It will stall at an intersection, but then fire right back up. Otherwise, 1400 miles later and a year of almost daily use, not a problem. I have hit the top speed, I break will, and handles nicely on turns. The gas tank is small, but it's so efficient, it's not a big deal at all. Once a week I pull into a gas station, spend my $3, and I'm on my way. I can't imagine anyone would get a scooter like this for anything other than short commutes or weekend recreation, and it excels at this. If you're trying to do more than that, you probably need bigger wheels and more under the "hood". So, is it a super amazing hard-core scooter? Nope. Because it's not supposed to be. Not impressed

I recently purchased this for my wife as she likes the vintage look, myself having just got a Yamaha Zuma, with zero problems to date. So far after 125 mi. The Lance prouduct died in the middle of an intersection, fortunately I was riding it and figured out it was a coil wire that fell off, the rear... pod lock broke off the inside so it'll need a new one of those, and the front rotor is warped, now I know why they don't let you test ride these. Lance Havana/ Cali Classic 125cc scooter

These scooters are overpriced made in China scooters contrary to saying that they are made in Taiwan with flaky dealers and a distributor that doesn't care about customers after the sale. They stopped selling the Znen brand scooters left hundreds of customers high and dry for warranty and parts avai...lability and they feel that these are such top quality scooters when my scooter stalls out in traffic after 500 miles that's pretty scary. Save your money and buy yourself a premium Honda scooter for a little more or an affordable entry-level Chinese scooter at a lower price with similar quality.
