2004 Kawasaki Vulcan® 2000

Beautiful bike,powerful engine. Comfortable ride and stable with a passenger. My only problem is ferocious oil consumption. Bought with 22000 miles so I need to have it looked at. Have read online others have had same problem. Using synthetic oil vs petroleum and different viscosity made no difference. ... All and all, best bike I have ever owned.

Bought it used in 2010 with 2400 miles. I am a motorcycle technician and ride almost every bike out there. I put Vance and Hines power shots on it. Kuryakyn corsair intake and power commander set up on a dyno. This bike is a beast. Put a 240 on the rear and went down to a 130 on the front to make ... it easier to handle at slow speeds like parking lot. People underestimate the power this bike has. The only other v-twin that I have ridden that is quicker is the M109. In 5 years and 20000 more miles. I only had to change the fuel pump and plugs. Still had original brake pads on it when I had to sell it due to a medical disease that affects my balance. This is by far the best bike I ever owned. Kawasaki did it right on this bike.

I bought this bike used in 2010 with 9k on it. Aftermarket Kuryakyn grips, Mustang seat, Cobra exhaust, tall windshield, Kuryakyn floorboards, , Kuryakyn highway pegs, Leatherlyke bags(will hold case of 24 cans :), and last but not least? Tassels. Forgot about the testicles that were nylon tie ... wrapped to hang below the rear fender. Took those off as the bike doesn't need to be that obvious to show it has balls.

Had a '78 Kawasaki KZ1000 in '88 and loved it.... but on a cruse, your hands were numb in 20 minutes. Too much vibration for the open road. LOTS of power.

Decided to get back into bikes at 54 and figured a cruiser would be my way. Bought a 2005 Kawasaki 1600 Vulcan thinking the extra 600cc would give me as much power in a cruiser as the KZ had. No such luck. Ran even with a 2008 96ci Harley Sportster my friend had but it didn't have the thrill my KZ gave. A bit disappointed I cruised through Craig's List and found a few Vulcan 2000s for sale in late January. Talked my wife into riding the 1600 and off I went on a 3 hour tour...., uh road cruise. Road the bike back freezing my stuff off but was overwhelmed by the sheer power and handling of the bike.

After 7500 miles of riding to work and a couple of 2 hour cruises in the summer. I will never own a different bike.

Whether gunning it to pass between two cars blocking the way on the freeway and suddenly a slight opening to pass or just accelerating up to speed, taking corners scraping the floorboards(ya' really got to lean to do that) this bike has guts and balls to spare. Powerful, just plain powerful.

After 3000 or 4000 miles turning in a parking lot became easy. Even with those stretched back handle bars. This bike is heavy, stable, and did I say powerful, yes, powerful. I have never felt more alive than when astride this motorcycle. Pure joy.

Oh, and if you wanna' cruise, hey, it does that too!

I bought this bike new but I soon found out Kawasaki corporate. was not intrested in any of my warranty issues, six months later and and a few letters to Calfornia state automotive repair dept., the selling dealer called me asked me to take the bike in for the warranty issues

This bike also ... had a recal on the transmission drive belt wheel, I took it to the a local Riverside kawasaki dealer they said everything is fine, but something was not right a few weeks later I took it to a Corona kawasaki dealer and told the service dept. to check the the front drive belt wheel and I would pay for the service, since kawasaki records showed the recal was already checked by another kawasaki dealer, so off I went again and a couple of hundred miles later while I was on the freeway the drive wheel spun on the shaft now get the bike towed to the Riverside kawasaki dealer again and this time they had no choice but to put a new one on.

Over all the bike has alot of power but it is some what dificult to manuver at slow speeds like parking lots, now I am having electrical problems with the starting system, bike wont start at only 14000 miles this is the worst kawasaki bike that I ever owned, I been loyal to kawasaki since 1969 with my H1

and a few off road and street bikes, but the grass is not always greener on the other side
